This module adds a dedicated date filtering tool to the Odoo Discuss app. When your channels and inbox fill up with hundreds of messages, finding an old file or approval becomes difficult. Instead of scrolling up manually, this module lets you filter your view by time.

It adds a (Date Filters) menu directly to the left sidebar of your Discuss screen. You can use this menu to show only the messages sent today, this week, this month, or this year. For more control, there is a calendar tool that lets you set an exact start and end date. The filter works immediately on your screen, hiding all messages that do not match your chosen dates.

Purpose:

The main purpose of this module is to save time and make searching easier. Users often remember when a message was sent, but not the exact wording. By letting users filter their inbox and channels by a specific day or week, they can quickly narrow down the results and locate the exact message, document, or link they need without guessing or endless scrolling.

Main Features:

  • Quick Sidebar Filters:
  • Adds a new menu to the left sidebar with one click buttons for Today, This Week, This Month, and This Year.
  • Custom Date Range Calendar:
  • Adds a calendar icon to the top right of the screen. Clicking this opens a menu where you can select a precise start date and end date.
  • Active Filter Badge:
  • When you apply a date, a small chip appears at the top of your message list clearly showing the exact dates you are currently viewing.
  • Instant Screen Updates:
  • The filter applies immediately. Your inbox or channel hides irrelevant messages instantly without forcing the web page to reload.
  • Auto Reset Function:
  • If you have a date filter active in one channel and you click on a different channel or inbox, the filter clears automatically so you do not accidentally miss new messages.
